Vehicle Description
Known around the world as the “American Hero” Edition Chevelle, this beautiful 1970 Super Sport was completely restored and custom built by the folks at Route 66 Motorsports and published in Super Chevy Magazine. Originally a purpose-built vehicle designed as a tribute to the American Armed Forces, it is the third in a series of vehicles created for the sole purpose of raising money for the Armed Forces Foundation, who helps fallen soldiers and their families by providing comfort, support, and other types of assistance. Bringing this patriot to life is a 6.2 supercharged LSA V8 engine, producing over 550 horsepower and more than 550 pound-feet of torque. That power is transferred through an automatic transmission and then transmitted to the ground by custom one-off Boze Alloys wheels wrapped in Toyo Z-rated tires. In charge of controlling all that power is a Detroit Speed 4-corner coilover suspension setup, and DSE rear swivel-link system. Stopping power comes from the reliable Baer’s 4-piston caliper braking system. This car also features plethora of modern conveniences and custom touches, like a Sony DVD/CD touch-screen premium sound system, A/C, power windows, custom one-off gauges, and much, much more. The chassis, suspension, braking, and drivetrain systems have all passed an intensive and thorough inspection by one of our trained restoration specialists, so you can have peace of mind driving and enjoying this amazing car. This car is showing 38 miles on the odometer, and will be sold as mileage EXEMPT. This vehicle is offered for sale at $125,000 and is not part of any type of charity related transaction. Included with the purchase of this Hendrick Performance vehicle, is the rare opportunity for you and up to three of your friends to tour and take delivery inside the breath-taking Hendrick Heritage Center. Stepping inside this private museum, that very few have had the privilege to experience, will take you back in time to when American muscle cars ruled the street, and show you the story of Rick Hendrick’s heritage and his amazing collection of rare and high-performance cars.
