Vehicle Overview
This striking '96 Z16 Grand Sport was a one-year only build from Chevrolet, totaling just 1,000 units produced overall. While the ZR-1 might be the king of the C4-generation Corvettes, the Grand Sport Convertibles were even more rare with a mere 190 examples ever made. In a special color of Admiral Blue designated just for the Grand Sports, the car was adorned with red fender stripes, a white racing stripe, massive 285/40 series tires on custom black aluminum wheels, and the more powerful LT4 engine option. The Grand Sport's version of the 5.7-liter small-block V-8 engine features deeper-breathing cylinder heads, with larger valves and specific valve springs, a different crankshaft, a higher-lift camshaft, a slight increase in compression, higher-rate fuel injectors, and, at a glance, a distinctive red intake manifold, compared to the standard LT1 engine. The result was 330 horsepower and 340 lb-ft of torque when new. This car has been very well preserved its entire life and enjoyed sparingly. Loaded with factory and optional features like the selective real time damping, electronic air conditioning, six-way power seat, and the Delco/Bose music system to name a few. It has had only 32K miles put on it over the last 27 years and is in excellent physical and mechanical condition. The Chevrolet is very nicely documented with its original window sticker and original manuals, so don't miss your chance to own a very rare/low-mileage Corvette Grand Sport Convertible!
